Research Interests
Dr. Ballester studies the upper atmospheres and magnetospheric
interactions of the outer planets, their satellites, and extrasolar
planets. She also studies the Earth's plasmasphere. The research is
based on ultraviolet/optical/IR spectroscopic and imaging observations
with the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), the EUV instrument on the IMAGE
satellite, and other experiments. She collaborates
with researchers at the University of Arizona, and at other national
and international institutions.
