The same Sirius B observations as seen in Figure 1 but plotted as they are distributed around its 50 year orbit. The large white dot is Sirius A. The green dots are the locations of the visual positions of Sirius B, while the yellow dots are it's photographic positions. The dashed line joins the maximum and minimum orbital distances for the two stars. The orbit is tilted at an angle of 43 degrees with respect to the plane of the sky. The dots depicting the positions of Sirius A and B do not represent the true relative sizes of these two stars.
